Greetings, I'm bored at work so here's a quick-hitting list of thoughts on my first impressions of MLB 07 The Show.
- No Daisuke on first glance of the Red Sox roster, ... No worries, a good CAP site should fix that.
- The two-player franchise is back, ... Good times.
- Love the broadcast crew on this game, as I did last season, loving the fact that the commentary is relevant to the game action as opposed to only the current situation, at least in the tw games I played (D-Rays at Red Sox, Yankees at Orioles). Plus, any game with Dave Campbell on color-commentary is aces.
- The camera for the homers seems a bit off. The 'camera' seemingly loses the ball for any homer that doesn't just clear the wall. Though the Manny Ramirez stare-and-strut on a long ball still brings the awesome.
- I like the new pitching nuances - confidence in pitches, Advanced Pitch Interface, if only because it adds just a little more realism with the ability to 'shake off' pitches. Plus it's good to see that I'd call nearly the same game as cyber-Jorge Posada. I wonder if catcher's personalities affect the game that they'd call for you - Like Pudge Rodriguez seemingly calling all fastballs with runners on base.
- On All-Star, mistake pitches get punished by players and CPU a lot more than last year's game on default. That's kind of a good thing, but as soon as sliders are adjusted it shouldn't be as frequent.
- Found a glitch: Jeter and A-Rod high-fived after a 5-6-3 double play.
- Haven't touched Road to the Show yet, ... But I hear wonderful things about it from others.
- Overall, with about 110 minutes logged into it, I give it a 8/10. I'll be able to judge it better when I get into the meat of the game - RttS and Franchise.
