Since nobody else has posted anything on CH2K8, I figured I'd start by posting some ratings I just found. Because, as Nick Bakay says, the numbers never lie.

Some random notes:

Best team...or teams (overall rating) - Kansas and North Carolina, 88

Best player - Chris Lofton (92)

Best at each position (the All-Americans) - Darren Collison (91), Lofton, Martin Zeno (87), Tyler Hansbrough (88), Roy Hibbert (89)

Best player the casual fan has never heard of - Depends on your definition of casual, I guess. New Orleans's Bo McCalebb (87) is actually on the Wooden watch list. Just in case you're not quite THAT casual, next on the list would be Kyle Hines of UNC-Greensboro (86).

Best freshman - Unless I missed somebody in the cluster (entirely possible), it's OJ Mayo (83). It's amazing when you look at other boards, everyone says he's way underrated or way overrated. I know you can't please 'em all, but not being able to please anybody?

Guy that really scares the Dukie (sorry, I couldn't resist) out of me - Roy Hibbert. He's an 89, he's 7-2, he'll get any leadership intangible bonuses 2K tosses in by being a senior. What's not to like so long as you're a Hoya fan?

Things that make you go "hmmmm...." - My...um...obsession...perhaps addiction, I dunno...with college hoops...it's a pretty good dose (Admitting is the first step, znscr3). I've looked at what I would estimate to be a dozen preseason polls. This is the first time I've seen Providence. Where's the love for Nova...or with these standards, even DePaul?

The bold prediction gone wrong - I put Brook Lopez on my second-team All-American list on my page despite his academic ineligibility because we all knew he'd still be in the game, and I assumed he'd probably be the best seven-footer not named Roy Hibbert in the game. So 2K rewards my leap of faith with an 80.

In case you neeeded more proof - There are a truckload of solid guards in the NCAA this year. Granted, the majority of marquee swingmen in the nation seemed to fall on the guard side of the swing in 2K's eyes, but still....
